Dudley Edmondson

PUBLICATIONS/ PR: BLACK & BROWN FACES

In 2006 Dudley wrote and photographed his first two books, Black and Brown Faces in Americas Wild Places and a Youth version of the book in an attempt to engage African Americans in outdoors activities and environmental advocacy. To do this he'd hoped that folks in the book would be seen as a set of "Outdoor Role Models" for African Americans across the country. The book has been very well received by environmental educators and government agenices like the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service and has even won him acclaim from the Wilderness Society, one of America's leading conservation non-profits. He plans to continue trying to encourage other African Americans to discover the beauty and solitude of the natural world for their own mental and physical health through his photographic and writing works.
