A Family Tradition Continues

My Great Grand-Father Monteith Vance was issued a Portrait Photographer’s licenses by the State of North Carolina in 1919. I like to think he’d be proud of me today for keeping such an admirable skill in the family. A few years ago I was fortune enough to acquire some of his printed work and tin printing plates. My Aunt also gave me his old wooden tripod in which he’d tied an old handkerchief to hold its legs together. I’ve kept it proudly in my office as a reminder of my roots in the art of photography and why I do what I do
